How HeyIT Delivered a Full Retail IT Fit-Out for a New Mango Store in Aberdeen

At HeyIT, we're often asked how our team are able to support large, international brands. One recent project is a great example of exactly that.


We had the privilege of being brought in to deliver the full IT equipment installation for a brand-new Mango store opening in Union Square, working alongside Mango's remote internal IT department.


This project shows how the right planning, experience and execution can make even a complex retail store launch feel seamless.


Working Alongside a Global IT Team


Rather than replacing Mango's internal IT function, HeyIT worked in partnership with their remote IT department - acting as the on-site technical delivery team in Aberdeen.


Our role was to ensure that everything was:

  • Installed correctly

  • Tested thoroughly and cables certified

  • Ready for trading day one


All while adhering to Mango's global IT standards and configurations.

What we Delivered On-Site


For this store fit out, HeyIT managed the complete physical IT infrastructure installation, including:


Point of Sale & Store Systems

  • Installation and set up of all till (POS) systems

  • Structured Cabling (Ethernet CAT6A) to each till location

  • End-to-end connectivity testing to ensure reliability



Network & Connectivity

  • Installation of Fortigate firewalls/ routers provided by Mango

  • Enterprise grade ethernet switches

  • 4G backup connectivity, ensuring resilience if the primary line fails




Wireless Infrastructure

  • Deployment of 9 Wi-Fi Access Points across the store

  • Designed to provide:

    • Full staff coverage

    • Reliable connectivity for tills and handheld devices

    • Consistent performance across back-of-house and customer areas



Server Room & Structured Cabling

  • Installation and termination of patch panels (see the before and after of the server room below!)

  • Clean, labelled cabling back to the server room

  • Logical separation of device type for easier support and troubleshooting
